1. Types of Data We Collect
PlanViz collects the following categories of personal data, either directly from you or automatically through your use of the app:
- Identity data: First name, last name, email address (provided when you register or sign in)
- Usage data: IP address, device type, operating system, pages visited, time spent, app interactions
- Device identifiers: Universally unique identifier (UUID), advertising ID
- Crash data: Error logs, crash reports and diagnostic information
- User-generated content: Planners, journals, notes and to-do lists you choose to save to the cloud
- Location data: General geographic location (country/region level) derived from your IP address
- Communication data: Information you provide when contacting our support team
Data marked as mandatory is required to provide our service. Optional data may be omitted without affecting core functionality.
2. How We Use Your Data
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- To deliver, maintain and improve the PlanViz application and its features
- To authenticate your identity and provide account access
- To sync your planners and journals across devices via cloud storage
- To send notifications and reminders you have opted into
- To analyze usage trends and improve app performance
- To detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse and security incidents
- To comply with our legal obligations
- To respond to your support requests and inquiries
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate PlanViz. Each service processes certain personal data as described:
Analytics — Google Analytics for Firebase
Provided by Google LLC. Collects usage data to help us understand how users interact with the app. Data is processed in the United States and Ireland. Google Privacy Policy
Crash Reporting — Crashlytics
Provided by Google LLC. Collects crash data, device information and UUIDs to help us identify and fix app errors. Privacy Policy
Session Recording — Smartlook
Provided by Smartsupp.com, s.r.o. Records anonymized session data to understand user interactions. Processed in Czech Republic. Smartlook Privacy Policy
Push Notifications — Firebase Cloud Messaging
Provided by Google LLC. Used to send reminders and notifications you have opted into. Privacy Policy
Authentication — Firebase Authentication & Sign in with Apple
Used to create and manage your account securely. Processes your email address and name. Apple may generate a private relay email address on your behalf to protect your real email.
App Distribution — Google Play Store & Apple App Store
These platforms collect basic analytics and diagnostics about app installs and performance. You may opt out through your device settings.
Cloud Storage — Owner's Server
Your planners and journals are stored on our servers only when you explicitly choose to save them to the cloud. You may delete all stored data by deleting your account from within the app (Settings → Sync Your Planners → Delete Account).
4. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected:
- Account data is retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion
- Usage and analytics data is retained for up to 24 months
- Crash logs are retained for up to 90 days
- Legal compliance data may be retained for up to 7 years
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data
- Right to portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing
- Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing
- Right to lodge a complaint: File a complaint with your local data protection authority

6. California Consumer Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale.
Categories of personal information we collect include: identifiers (name, email, device ID), internet activity (usage data, crash logs), geolocation data (country/region) and inferred information.
We use certain third-party services (Google Analytics, Firebase, Firebase Cloud Messaging, authentication services) in ways that may constitute a "sale" under the CCPA definition. You may opt out by contacting us directly. We will confirm and action your request within 45 days.

7. Brazilian User Rights (LGPD)
If you reside in Brazil, you have rights under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), including the right to access, correct, anonymize, block or delete your personal data, as well as the right to portability and the right to revoke consent.
We process your data on the following legal bases: your consent, contractual necessity, our legitimate interests (where not overridden by your rights) and compliance with legal obligations.

8. Security
We take the security of your data seriously. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Your planners and journals stored in the cloud are protected with industry-standard security measures.
We implement access controls, regular security reviews and incident response procedures. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies & Trackers
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate correctly and analyze traffic. These include essential cookies required for the site to function, analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and preference cookies.
